Description

The aim of this activity is to explain and emphasize the importance of commensalism which is one of the symbiotic relationships within an ecosystem. After engaging and explaining the concept of commensalism via the relationship of the shark and remora, the 6 different organisms including 3 pairs of commensalism are given. Based on information about needs and characteristics of each organism, it is asked to user to select an organism and find the other organism creating a relationship in which one species benefit from the other without giving harm. The user is guided for each action to chose the correct organisms if the wrong choices are chosen. When the user chose the correct organisms, the relationship that user try to build, is identified as mutualism and the importance of commensalism is explained briefly.
