Description

In this experiment, the students are asked to discover what plants require for photosynthesis. The variables of the experiment are sunlight, water, carbon dioxide, oxygen and glucose. The students observe the plants under different combinations of these variables. Since glucose produced by photosynthesis is stored as starch, whether the plant performs photosynthesis or not is determined by the starch test. In the starch test, a purple color indicates the existence of starch. Students’ observations and the conclusions drawn from the data are presented in a report form.
